VANCOUVER, BC –
The list, which was announced on April 1st, 2019, features 30 of B.C.’s most enterprising young business leaders, from clothiers to tech entrepreneurs to marketing leaders.
“I am extremely honoured and thrilled to be a part of such an amazing roster of entrepreneurs, business leaders and innovators,” said Wan. “As a business that heavily promotes diversity, I’m incredibly proud to be included in a group of talented individuals of such different backgrounds and industries.”
Wan co-founded Periphery Digital in late 2016 with co-founder and director of operations, Marjo Ruokamo, after seeing a need for western brands and companies to appropriately connect with the Chinese audience in a more modern approach. By utilizing popular Chinese only platforms such as WeChat and Weibo, Periphery helps western organizations better understand how to communicate with the Chinese demographic by employing solutions that are often overlooked by western marketers. “We’re also one of the few agencies that have an understanding of how to market to both the local domestic Chinese audience, as well as the international Chinese audience,” said Wan.
Today, Periphery Digital offers a full service marketing solution for companies looking to target the Chinese demographic, on both a national and international level. Service offerings include both traditional and digital media buying, content and social media management, strategy, as well as cultural consultations. Some of Periphery’s clientele include FlyOver Canada, Rennie Marketing Systems, the City of Vancouver, Tourism New Brunswick and Uber Eats.
Periphery Digital has done well over $1 million in revenue in 2018, and is on track to doubling for 2019. With 10 full time employees and growing, Wan and Ruokamo has their sights on expanding into both Toronto and China in the future.
